Top returnees Greg Askwith (5-9, sr., G); Graham Glasgow (6-6, jr., C); Tyler Hlavac (6-1, sr., G-F); John Mason (6-6, sr., C); Mark Peters (6-6, sr., F); Nick Scoliere (6-1, sr., G).

Newcomers to watch Mike Froehlich (6-6, sr., F-C); Eddie Grahovec (5-9, jr., G); Grant Wilson (6-4, jr., F).

Outlook The Cadets' overall and conference records last season indicate they'll play anyone - they beat 20-win East Aurora on the Tomcats' floor - but also they're looking to take that next step toward consistency. "We just want to get better every day," said Burno, the former standout DePaul guard who enters his third season at Marmion with a record of 29-29. He graduated all-conference players Fichtel and Brouch and a third double-figure scorer in Emory. But as the Cadets enter the Suburban Christian Blue, Burno figures to compete with returning point guard Scoliere and Peters, whose returning averages of 7.5 points and 4.8 rebounds should please the home student section, "Burno's Inferno." Peters, who has received Division II and DIII interest, grew two inches over the summer, is mainly a back-to-the-basket post player but added depth that extends to the perimeter and press-break. Askwith, Mason and athletic swingman Hlavac weren't asked to score last year, but all three had significant playing time. As usual, defense is an area Burno would like to improve with his assortment of guards and burly bigs. "We're going to run and gun a little bit because we have some shooters," he said.
