Where are we going so fast, anyway?
So many adults I encounter every day make me wonder how they were raised or what they are thinking.
Posting speed limit signs is a waste of money. The state could save millions of dollars and reduce our taxes by not posting these signs.
Who follows them anyway?
I, like you, drive on the Autobahn every day - there seems to be no speed limit.
So many think they can ignore the rules, and they do.
If you have the gall to blow your horn at someone who flies through a stop sign or cuts you off, he will often scream an expletive your way.
What exactly is the person teaching his children? He is teaching them to behave exactly like him in the future. What a scary thought that is.
Emergency vehicles with lights flashing and sirens screaming don't get respect, either. I guess that it is not that necessary for drivers to allow an ambulance to get to its destination quicker. It is very possible that those who ignore the very basic rules of the road have been responsible for the death of someone's child, mom, dad or loved one, because of precious time lost. Please think when you drive, obey the rules - the rules that may someday save your life or those of others.
Where exactly are we rushing to folks?
The mall, the fast-food restaurant, and home can wait just a few minutes longer for our arrival.
I hope we can refocus a little bit and get our act together. There is always hope we can change for the better and once again become more human and caring.
