1 killed, 2 wounded in apartment attack
Chicago police say a man was killed and his girlfriend was wounded in a domestic disturbance allegedly involving the woman's former boyfriend at an apartment in the West Side's Douglas Park neighborhood.
The former boyfriend, identified as 32-year-old Christopher Jackson, was also wounded in the incident, and was charged late Friday with one count of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office says 22-year-old Robert White died of a gunshot wound.
Police said White was with his new 41-year-old girlfriend, Sulee Gonzalez, when Jackson forced his way into the apartment and shot him.
Gonzalez and Jackson both suffered stab wounds and were being treated at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Police said Gonzalez had obtained an order of protection against Jackson last month.
