Need Villasenor's financial expertise

This year's election for mayor and trustees is heating up. On both sides of the ticket there are candidates that bring different things to the table. I don't want to sling mud, but I want to point out one issue that I feel is extremely important. Regardless of what issue is being discussed - traffic problems, economic development, taxes, etc. - it all comes down to one issue: money. Both sides seem to agree that money is a huge issue. The mayor offers the leadership, and the trustees offer guidance and expertise. Each trustee, indeed each candidate, should have a unique expertise to bring to the table. Just being "all about service" or having "an attitude of leadership" is not enough to really make a candidate stand out, as those types of qualities should be present in all of the candidates. Yet of all the candidates, only one of them seems to have any significant experience and understanding of money. Al Villasenor is a licensed financial adviser, and from reading his blog and what he has said about the issues, it is clear that he has a firm grasp on the issues of finances as it relates to running a large organization. Whatever your individual biases or party affiliations are, voting for Al Villasenor for trustee seems like the biggest "no-brainer" decision in this election.
