Semple, Nutschnig, Lentz win in Mundelein

Three incumbents and a newcomer won seats on the Mundelein village board Tuesday.

Incumbents Ray Semple and Jim Nutschnig will return to the board for four more years. They'll be joined by challenger Steve Lentz, a first-time candidate who won the third 4-year seat, unofficial results showed.

In a separate race, incumbent Robin Meier ran unopposed for a 2-year term.

With ballots in all 22 precincts counted, unofficial vote totals showed Semple with 1,721, Nutschnig had 1,605, Lentz had 1,596 and Cancelli had 1,535.

The need for street repairs was a major tenet of Lentz's platform.
