Georgia man nets 7th DUI arrest in Wheeling

A 54-year-old Georgia man arrested six times for driving under in the influence in his home state, picked up his seventh DUI early Friday in Wheeling.

Police pulled over Bobby Crumley, of Rome, Ga., shortly after 12 a.m. for a traffic violation near Wolf Road and Foxboro Drive, in Wheeling, said a Cook County state's attorney spokesman. Crumley failed several field sobriety tests and had a blood-alcohol content of .198, the spokesman said.

Police charged him with one count of aggravated driving under the influence. Cook County Circuit Court Judge Kay Hanlon set Crumley's bond at $100,000 Friday in Rolling Meadows' Third Municipal District. Because of his multiple DUIs, Crumley has been charged with a Class X felony, the state's attorney spokesman said.

If convicted he faces six to 30 years in prison. Probation is not an option in this case. He next appears in court on Nov. 23.
