IOC panel calls Chicago a 'vibrant' city
The chairwoman of the International Olympic Committee's evaluation commission says members were "most impressed" by what Chicago could offer the Olympics.
At a news conference Tuesday evening, evaluation commission chairwoman Nawal el Moutawakel called Chicago a "vibrant" city.
But the evaluation commission didn't tip its hand about how Chicago ranked because the evaluation process is just beginning.
Chicago was the first of the four finalist cities to be inspected. Chicago is vying against Madrid, Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro for the 2016 Games. The IOC will make its decision in October.
Moutawakel said commission members sensed good support for the games in Chicago.
