New on DVD: Missed Bocelli show? Own it

"Andrea Bocelli & David Foster: My Christmas"

For those of you who got the pleasure of seeing Andrea Bocelli's special last weekend, this is your chance to have your own copy of this terrific concert. If you missed it, Bocelli was great, and along with David Foster and special guests it was an evening that you can view for many years to come.

The show was filmed at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles and features Andrea Bocelli's amazing vocals, David Foster's arrangements, seasonal favorites and special guests.

"Johnny Mercer: The Dream's On Me"

Clint Eastwood, who loves great music, produced this wonderful program about a man whose songs have kept us entertained for many years. It features countless performances of Mercer's work and an abundance of new and archival interviews detailing his life and career. Johnny Mercer has been praised by Irving Berlin and Cole Porter and has written songs for over 100 films, won four Oscars, and been nominated 16 times.

He has written songs with Jerome Kern, Hoagy Carmichael, Harold Arlen, Richard Whiting, Harry Warren, Henry Mancini, John Williams and many others. He lived a fascinating life, and co-founded Capitol Records.

Some of the films he worked on include: "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers," "The Days of Wine and Roses," "Breakfast at Tiffany's," "The Harvey Girls," "Hollywood Hotel," "The Americanization of Emily," "Blues in the Night" and many more.

Many of his songs have become standards and most memorable of the 20th century. Along with the many interviews are clips of Mercer's songs by legendary performers.

"Michael Jackson: The Life and Times of The King of Pop 1958-2009"

Michael Jackson lived an amazing life and was one of the most popular singers in the world. With his worldwide sales and sold-out concerts, he not only was one of the greatest entertainers of his generation, he was the most famous.

He was born in a small house in Gary, Ind., and began singing with his brothers at a very young age. The Jackson Five had many hits, and Michael began a solo career, that topped anything that he could have imagined with the best selling album of all-time, "Thriller."

This program celebrates his life and legacy, and comes full circle with his memorial service at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Some of the appearances at the service include: Jermaine Jackson, Janet Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Ritchie, Berry Gordy, Brooke Shields, Magic Johnson, Rev. Al Sharpton and more.

"Sherlock Holmes Double Features"

A new generation of those who go to the movies will be introduced to Sherlock Holmes with the new film starring Robert Downey Jr. as the great amateur sleuth along with his partner Dr. Watson. Basil Rathbone starred in the classic series, and four of his 14 mysteries are available this week.

They have been restored in 35 mm, making them look and sound they way they did upon their initial release during World War II. The sets also includes the original war bond tag, studio logo and credits from the original theatrical release. The double features are: "The House of Fear" and "Pearl of Death" and "The Spider Woman" and "The Voice of Terror."
