Teen charged in Carpentersville stabbing

A 17-year-old Carpentersville woman has been charged in the stabbing of a man during a fight in a parking lot at the Fox View Apartments.

Glenneisha F. Williams of the 100 block of Woodland Court was charged in court Thursday with felony aggravated battery, according to a report.

Carpentersville police and paramedics were called to the parking lot at 1:54 p.m. Wednesday for a fight between two men.

The victim, a 30-year-old Carpentersville resident, told police he was knocked to his knees during the fight and Williams stuck the knife into the upper part of his back.

"Police found the victim lying in the parking lot with blood streaming down his back, but the wound was superficial," Carpentersville Police Cmdr. Tim Bosshart said.

He was taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin where he received stitches and was released, Bosshart said.

Williams was located later by police in an Elgin motel where she was arrested. Police said Williams was wanted on a Kane County warrant for an unknown charge.

During Thursday's bond hearing, Williams said she had a baby at her home and needed to get back to her child. Court authorities said the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services would be informed of the situation at her home.

Kane County Judge John Noverini then set her bond at $3,000.

Williams was unable to post bond and was sent to the Kane County jail to await a March 27 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.
