Don't believe GOP's propaganda

I take serious issue with the letter from Christine Dolgopol (Kirk did what's right on health care in the Daily Herald, Nov. 20). Kirk voted against the health care bill, because he supports the insurance industry (which makes adverse health care decisions affecting millions), and because he is pandering to the extreme elements in the Republican Party who are hoping that Obama fails in his reform efforts.

The Republicans do not want the Democrats to take credit for any reform. Ms. Dolgopol states that Kirk "said no to the government takeover (of the health care system)."

What government is she referring to? None of the health care proposals being considered would stand between individuals and their doctors or prevent anyone from choosing the best possible care free of any government interference.

She is falling for the Republican propaganda (as are many Americans) which states that the government will make decisions regarding your health.

I ask again, what government?
