New on DVD: Obama's presidential inauguration
"A Moment in History: The Inauguration of Barack Obama": It has been more than a month since Barack Obama became the 44th president of the United States. It was a special moment in the history of the country, and ABC News captured the entire day and night on this DVD. The coverage was anchored by Diane Sawyer, Charles Gibson and George Stephanopoulos and reported by the network's correspondents. The program includes Obama taking the oath of office and his inaugural speech. It also features the recitation by Elizabeth Alexander and benediction from Dr. Joseph Lowery, a performance by Aretha Franklin, George Bush's helicopter departure, President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama walking the parade route and attending an inaugural Ball, the president's initial speech of the evening, his first interview as president with Robin Roberts and more.
"John Steinbeck's East of Eden": Many people remember the film "East of Eden" that starred James Dean. It was an excellent film, but the true masterpiece of the timeless American classic was the six-hour miniseries that aired on ABC in 1981. Available on DVD for the first time, this award-winning production follows three generations of the Trask family as they explore good verses evil, with the end result being reconciliation. The great-looking film featured an ensemble cast of Lloyd Bridges, Karen Allen, Anne Baxter, Warren Oates, Timothy Bottoms, Hart Bochner, Bruce Boxleitner and Jane Seymour in the best performance of her career.
"Andre Rieu's Greatest Hits": Many viewers of PBS have seen Andre Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra performing. Rieu has sold out concerts throughout Europe, North America and Japan, and is the top-selling classical artist of 2008. He is a great performer with a lot of energy, and plays a 1667 Stradivarius. His audience loves the diversity of music as he plays classical, folk music, theater musicals and motion picture soundtracks. The program includes fan favorites from his PBS shows, and they include: Live in Vienna, Live in Dublin, Live at Royal Albert Hall, Radio City Music Hall, Tuscany, Flying Dutchman, Romantic Moments, La Vie Est Belle and much more.
