Is Palin a pit bull that needs training?
I couldn't believe my eyes when I read Cal Thomas's Nov. 13 column. He actually had the audacity to write that Sarah Palin could develop intellectual depth by using her notoriety to command the best and brightest tutors, as if she's a dog that needs training. You can't develop intellectual depth; it takes curiosity. You either have it or you don't and she doesn't have it and never will.
You can teach her how to pronounce Ahmadinejad but that won't make her competent in foreign policy. If she were serious about national politics she would do interviews with people like George Stephanopoulos, David Gregory or Bob Schieffer instead of Oprah or Barbara Walters.
The Republicans made fun of Obama during his presidential campaign for being nothing but a celebrity. Where does that leave Sarah Palin?
