November was state's 7th warmest

New data show that this year Illinois had its seventh warmest November on record since 1895.

State climatologist Jim Angel of the Illinois State Water Survey says the statewide average temperature in November was 46.9 degree, 5.1 degrees above normal. The warmest November in Illinois is a tie between 1931 and 2001. Both years the average temperature was 49.8 degrees.

The Illinois State Water Survey also found that statewide precipitation was 0.7 inches below normal in November, measuring at 2.6 inches. The highest amount of rainfall in the state in November was in Perry, in west-central Illinois, where it rained 5.47 inches.
