Drug prescription cards available
Readers should know that Lake County offers a free prescription discount card that can help save money on many prescription purchases. The Lake County Prescription Discount Card can save an average of 22 percent off the pharmacy's regular price on commonly prescribed prescriptions and an average savings of 50 percent on three-month supplies of select generics through mail service.
Any county resident without prescription coverage can use this program. Even if you have insurance for prescription drugs, you may still benefit from the discount card, since it may save you money on prescription drugs your existing plan does not cover.
Everyone is eligible. There are no income or age requirements and one card can be used for the whole family at local pharmacies including Walgreens, Dominick's, Osco, Costco and Wal-Mart. All you need is a card and there are no forms to fill out.
You can pick up a card at the Ela Library, Ela Township Hall, or the village hall in Lake Zurich, Kildeer, Hawthorn Woods or Long Grove. Send an e-mail to me at talbett@comcast.net containing your address and I will mail a card back to you.
