2 Arlington Hts. teens cited for underage drinking

Two Arlington Heights teens have been cited with underage drinking after an Arlington Heights police officer discovered the pair passed out on the 1500 block of Highland Drive Saturday night.

Arlington Heights police spokesman Doug Hajek said an officer passing Juliette Low School on patrol around 9:45 p.m. Saturday saw a girl passed out on the side of the road.

The officer called paramedics and contacted the 15-year-old parents, Hajek said.

After the girl spoke with her parents, Hajek said, the parents told officers a second girl also may be passed out somewhere on the school grounds.

A second search of the campus revealed a second 15-year-old unconscious on the school's playground area.

Both girls were taken to Northwest Community Hospital by paramedics, Hajek said. Their conditions were not known Monday.

Police also interviewed a third teen regarding the situation, however, she has not been charged at this time.
