Frisk: Overwhelmed by your generosity

I have been so overwhelmed by the cards, letters, e-mails, phone calls and school tributes since I retired after 50 years with the Daily Herald that I thought this might be a good way to say thanks and try to reach as many people as possible. I no longer have my column for that.

Prospect High School added to this wonderful couple of months for me by having "Bob Frisk Knight" on Feb. 6, and it certainly was a night I'll never forget as the past and present came together. It was such a pleasure to see so many friends who had a profound impact on my life.

Prospect opened its doors when I started at the Herald, so we grew up together over those 50 years.

I was blessed to have a job and work at a newspaper that I truly cared about and to meet so many great people and watch so many outstanding young athletes perform for our high schools.

My sincere thanks to everyone for sharing with me 50 very special years and for your extremely kind words and gestures as I start on this new phase of my life.
