Meet ECC Board candidates at today's public forum

Candidates for the upcoming Elgin Community College Board election will be hosted at an on-campus forum on Tuesday, March 3, to which the public is invited.

The forum will be held from noon until 1:15 p.m. in Advanced Technology Center auditorium, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin.

It is jointly sponsored by the ECC Faculty Association, the support staff of Elgin Community College Association, and the ECC Student Government.

Participating candidates will be given an initial 10 minutes to introduce themselves, explain why they are running and address issues facing the college. Afterward, they will be asked to take questions from the audience.

The forum, along with a questionnaire mailed to each candidate, will help determine what endorsements, if any, will be made by the sponsoring organizations.

There are four candidates running for two open seats on the board. They are Donna-Shuring Redmer, Richard Green, Robert Goetz and Robin Lisboa.

District 509 residents will be able to vote on Tuesday, April 14.
