Tiger's sponsors should let him go
We were so disappointed to learn that Tiger Woods had repeatedly compromised himself, his family, and the fans who held him to a higher standard with his egregious behavior. No one is perfect, but this was a huge step away from even decent behavior.
We were further saddened to learn that The Quaker Oats Company (Gatorade), American Express and Nike and possibly others have not ended their relationship with him. Having him continue to represent them tacitly condones his behavior.
We believe it is this sort of acceptance that sends the message to the world that this is OK. How many children, immature adults and other high profile athletes and stars will now learn, once again, that there are no consequences for their immoral and dishonest behavior? The adults are old enough to know better, but what are the children learning by these companies giving him a pass?
They had a chance to make a difference by severing him from their contractual relationships. We would have respected that.
