Uniforms would make school safer
Elgin public schools need uniforms. The schools should require them because they augment concentration in school activities, encourage safety and make students equal.
While uniforms violate the right of student free choice, they will create a better environment. Uniforms help students treat each other equally in terms of no discrimination because no one will feel left out for not wearing expensive clothes. Also, uniforms will act as safety clothes because students won't have to worry about being confused with a gang member.
