Renewable energy helps economy, too

In the last couple of weeks Congress has had to make some important decisions about the state of the economy and the planet by voting on comprehensive energy legislation and an economic bailout plan.

As a local business owner and a father of three, I am concerned about the future of the economy and our planet not only for my business, but more importantly for my children.

Luckily the solutions that will help our economy and stop our dependence on foreign oil are the same solutions that will help stop global warming. By investing in renewable energy we're not only saving the planet but providing jobs for Americans that cannot be shipped overseas.

Just west of Chicago's suburbs, a foreign company is putting up wind farms right here in Illinois. If Congress were smart they would be investing in renewable energy right here in America. I'd like to hear what my Representative, Melissa Bean, and Congressional candidate Steve Greenberg have to say about their plan to stop global warming.
