We aren't convinced Gitmo must close
We have never been given a good reason why the prison at Gitmo should be closed. There have be allegations made that prisoners have been tortured at Gitmo, but are those allegations, if true, satisfied by closing the prison? The same kinds of behavior will take place wherever terrorist prisoners are housed and questioned.
Is the Obama administration admitting it is unable to run a prison properly, without mistreating inmates, unless it is in Illinois? Perhaps the real reason for moving the prison to Illinois is to pay back Illinois politicians for their support in Obama's campaign. The only benefit to anyone in the relocation would be to the ACLU, so their lawyers would not have to travel so far to represent these terrorists.
If the Thomson Correction facility is underused it could easily be filled up with corrupt Illinois politicians; but it may be too small for that task.
