Buffalo Grove

• Burglars smashed the driver's-side window to a vehicle overnight Dec. 17 in the 0-100 block of Villa Verde Drive and removed the navigation system and a number of CDs.

• Vandals put debris on top of a car and etched a scratch on the rear passenger quarter panel the afternoon of Dec. 18 in the 1000 block of Deerfield Parkway.

• Someone smashed a mailbox the evening of Dec. 20 in the 900 block of Ridgefield Lane using a flower pot.

• Vandals slashed both passenger-side tires on a box truck the evening of Dec. 14 in a parking lot in the 1100 block of Lake-Cook Road.

• A customer of Ultimate Exposure, 294 McHenry Road, took a bottle of tanning lotion valued at $115.56.

• Burglars pried open the rear sliding doors of a home in the 2200 block of Miramar Lane and stole jewelry from the bedroom.

• Thieves entered the locker room of Fitness 19, 210 Half Day Road, about 9 a.m. Dec. 16 and took a coat with a cell phone and house keys.

• A patron left his iPhone at Dengeos Restaurant, 195 W. Dundee Road, about 7 p.m. Dec. 16 and when he returned, it was gone

• Shari Ann Helminski, 24, of the 1-100 block of Cottage Avenue, Fox Lake, was arrested on Dundee Road at Buffalo Grove Road and charged with possession of marijuana, speeding and being an uninsured motorist.

Rolling Meadows

• Vandals scratched the passenger side of a 2006 gray Toyota Sienna with an unknown object, causing approximately $500 in damage, about 3 p.m. Dec. 14 in a parking lot in the 1400 block of Golf Road.

• Burglars stole a Samsung cell phone worth $90 from a gym locker at Rolling Meadows High School about 7:30 a.m. Dec. 7 during gym class.

• Hector L. Pizzini-Cruz, 54, of the 10000 block of West Touhy, Rosemont, and Raquel Coronel-Trejo, 37, of the same address, were each arrested about 11:30 Dec. 12 at the Walmart, 1460 Golf Road, and charged with retail theft. Reports said Pizzini-Cruz was seen removing a black, leather cell phone case valued at $18.66, and Coronel-Trejo was observed taking a speaker box system out of its packaging and placing it into her purse. Their next court date is Jan. 27.

Wheeling

• Thieves stole a laptop computer left on the hood of a car in an open garage on the 900 block of Garden Lane between 2 and 3 p.m. Dec. 5. Value was estimated at $350.

• Vandals punctured two tires on a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox in a driveway on the 1000 block of Harbor Court between 6 p.m. Dec. 9 and 7:45 a.m. Dec. 10. Damage was estimated at $200.

• Vandals bent and pulled from the ground 15 lighted white metal Christmas trees at a home on the 1200 block of Derby Street between 1:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Dec. 13. Damage was estimated at $250.

Bartlett

• Burglars stole a laptop computer valued at $500 out of an unlocked car on Longford Road overnight Dec. 14-15.

• Thieves stole a cell phone valued at $150 out of a student's book bag around 12:10 p.m. Dec. 15 at Bartlett High School, 701 W. Schick Road.

• Thieves stole a coin purse containing jewelry and cash out of an unlocked locker at the Bartlett Community Center, 700 S. Bartlett Road, around 8:45 p.m. Dec. 6. Value was estimated at $1,206.

• Burglars pried the metal entrance door but did not enter the Marathon gas station, 555 W. Lake St., Dec. 12. Damage was estimated at $500.

• Jesse J. Dionicio, 18, of the 300 block of Veronica Circle, Bartlett, Michael J. Crain, 17, of the 800 block of Forest Court, Bartlett, and Mark Merklin, 18, of the 600 block of Aspen Court, Bartlett, were arrested around 2:35 a.m. Dec. 12 at Crain's home and charged with local ordinance minor consumption of alcohol. Their court date is Jan. 28.

• Kristell B. Westbrook, 17, of the 1100 block of Oxford Lane, South Elgin, was arrested around 11:20 p.m. Dec. 11 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and a traffic violation. Her court date is Jan. 5.

Palatine

• Burglars smashed the front glass door at Trinity Hair Salon, 54 W. Illinois Ave., at 3:21 a.m. Dec. 17 and stole computers and computer equipment, two purses, stereo system, three dryers and a facial machine. Value was estimated at $5,025. The alarm sounded and the time of the burglary was recorded on a security tape on an adjacent building.

• Carol A. Keselica, 42, and Kathleen A. Cozzi, 42, both of the 900 block of Ravinia Terrace, Lake Zurich, were arrested around 4:15 p.m. Dec. 16 at T.J. Maxx, 1307 N. Rand Road, and charged with local ordinance retail theft. Reports said they stole shirts, shoes, a bra, children's items and a box of pretzels, hiding the items in a purse and under their jackets. Their court date is Jan. 25.

• Burglars broke into a 1998 Nissan Maxima in an apartment lot on the 800 block of West Panorama Drive between 6:30 p.m. Dec. 15 and 9 a.m. Dec. 16 and stole a GPS unit.

• Burglars stole a watch valued at $150 and a wallet out of a 2008 Nissan Altima in a garage on the 200 block of South Hampton Court around 2:40 a.m. Dec. 6. The victim's dog started barking and woke him. He opened the door between the house and garage to let the dog out and saw the dome light on inside the Nissan. The dome light was on inside two other vehicles in the driveway. The burglars removed a golf bag and clubs from the Nissan but left them on the garage floor.
