Heisler re-elected in McHenry Co. District 2
James Heisler, a Republican from Crystal Lake, won re-election in District 2 of the McHenry County Board.
J.S. "Scott" Breeden, a Republican from Lakewood, also won a seat in District 2, beating out Democratic challengers Jill Mawhinney and Anita Harmon, both of Crystal Lake.
Heisler won with 9,235 votes, followed by Breeden with 7,487 votes, Harmon with 7,004 votes and Mawhinney with 6,602 votes, according to unofficial totals.
Breeden said two decades of being active in the county helped him eke out a win over the Democratic challengers.
"Name recognition, more than anything else, that's what pulled it out," Breeden said.
