When will we learn from our history?

Watching the media sparks my memory of history, let's see if I got it right. When we entered the Bush era we had a budget surplus. Then by enacting major tax cuts while engaging in two wars by paying for them by borrowing (mainly from China) we now have a budget deficit of trillions. And just like credit cards, just this high interest by itself has become a major expense for our offspring for decades to come.

So we have learned, right? Obama wants to give life to our struggling economy by spending (more money we do not have - so borrow more). On projects like rebuilding our crumbling highways, bridges, government structures, etc. And the other side of the aisle Republicans who still do not want to pay for anything, say the only way they will support his plan is to have more tax cuts.

Nope, I don't guess we have.
