You can't hold this country down long
Not the banks, not the financials, not the auto industry - none of these. The real estate and construction industries - mainly, the residential construction industry - are the backbone of the U.S. economy.
They will lead the country out of the current recession and sustain a healthy economic growth once again, as they have over the last 40 years, dating back to the "oil embargo" crisis of 1973-74, if the lenders will appraise and lend at realistic prices and the buyers can go back to work.
The easy money thrown at builders and borrowers created the false values of new and existing properties. With realistic prices of properties and realistic lending terms, the country's economy will rebound.
This is a great, strong, vibrant country. You can't hold it down.
