Bean partly to blame for Freddie/Fannie

As a member of the House Financial Services Committee, Congresswoman Melissa Bean has raked in more money each year from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac than any other member of the House. In May of 2007, Bean sabotaged a bill that would have increased Fannie/Freddie regulation. She introduced an amendment, on behalf of her campaign contributors, that eliminated the ability of the regulator to avoid what would turn into a market collapse. Even worse, in October of 2007, at a time when top economists were warning of what Fannie/Freddie posed to the economy, Bean introduced a bill that would increase Fannie's and Freddie's portfolios, further gaining their approval. Melissa Bean must answer for her failure to do her job. The only way to deliver that message is to vote her out of office and elect Steve Greenberg to represent the 8th.
