Generations clash on stage in 'Cheaper by the Dozen'
Mr. Gilbreth and his 12 children will take center stage this weekend in Burlington, when Central High School puts on "Cheaper by the Dozen."
The play is drastically different from the movie version many are familiar with.
Taking place in the 1920's, the story shows the clash between a strict, yet caring father, played by Brogan Gust, and his eldest daughter Anne, played by Kayla Caffero.
Anne begins to rebel against her father's rules, which causes havoc in Mr. Gilbreth's well-structured home.
"The play shows the importance of family and the struggles of growing up," said director Kimberly Schmidt.
"What I like most about the play is that it gives off a good moral and explains that parents love you no matter what," said Tyler Kinser, who plays Larry, one of the boys in Anne's life.
The cast has spent long hours practicing and deigning the set for the past eight weeks, to ensure a great performance of this family-friendly play.
"I have enjoyed working with the cast members and have made lots of memories," said Rob Kelsey, who plays Dr. Burton, Mr. Gilbreth's doctor.
