Men's college basketball round-up

S. Illinois 79, Missouri St. 71: Bryan Mullins scored 19 points to lead host Southern Illinois to a victory over Missouri State. Five players scored in double figures for Southern Illinois (6-6, 1-0), which carried a losing record into Missouri Valley Conference play for the first time since the 1986-87 season. Missouri State fell to 7-6 and 0-1 in the Missouri Valley.

W. Illinois 85, Culver-Stockton 56: David DuBois scored a game-high 20 points to lead host Western Illinois to a win over Culver-Stockton. James Washington added 17 points and Jerryck Owens-Murray added 10 points and 11 rebounds for Western Illinois (5-7). Jordan Harris led Culver-Stockton (4-8) with 17 points.
