North Aurora Garden Club: Meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first Monday of each month, at Messenger Public Library, 113 Oak St., North Aurora. Winter Evergreen Arrangement Class: 6:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 4-5, at the Mount Prospect Historical Society, 101 S. Maple St., Mount Prospect. Native Plant Landscape Design: Presented virtually at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, through the Chicago Botanic Garden. Native plants offer a wide range of benefits in our landscapes including wide adaptability, hardiness, and value for pollinators and other wildlife. Using the incredible array of native trees, shrubs, and perennials will result in a beautiful, resilient, and dynamic landscape. This class will be taught online via Zoom. $52-$65. Buffalo Grove Garden Club - Winter Prairie Wonders: 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, Alcott Center, 530 Bernard Drive, Buffalo Grove. Author and Master gardener Cindy Crosby, also a steward at Morton Arboretum, will present a quiet, reflective program with lovely photography of snow-covered native plants. Hear stories of how animals, pollinators and birds use them for overwintering. Followed by readings about the prairie in winter to spark your creativity and warm your soul. Refreshments will be served and all are welcome.
