Oak Crest offers Irish dinners
Oak Crest Resident and Atrium Apartments will host a community dinner featuring traditional Irish food served in a traditional Irish setting in the Cellar at 6 p.m. Monday, March 16. Starters are the salad bar featuring Irish potato soup with entrees of corned beef, sliced turkey breast, cabbage and root vegetables. Cost is $12.50 per diner.
In addition, join the Oak Crest Cellar Pub for a St. Patrick's Day party and celebration of their second anniversary from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 17. Corned beef sandwiches, green beer, Irish music by Seamus and plenty of Irish fun will be featured. Cellar Pub is in historic Oak Crest and Atrium Apartments, 204 S. State St. (Route 31) in Elgin. AARP classes offered for seniors
Henry Karolus will teach an AARP driver safety program class from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, March 23, and Tuesday, March 24, at the West Dundee Safety Center 2, 100 Carrington Drive. You must attend both days. Taking the class could mean a savings on the liability portion of your auto insurance. The classroom fee is $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers. If a check is written it should be made out to AARP.
