Rooftop solar farm plan up for review in Mundelein

The Mundelein village board meets Monday to discuss a plan for a solar farm atop a warehouse at 1300 Allanson Road, among other issues.

If built, the solar array will collect solar energy and transfer it to the electrical grid in the area, documents indicate.

The proposal was reviewed by the planning and zoning commission last month.

The plan requires a special use permit from the village board. If trustees support the plan Monday, they’ll direct village staff to draft an ordinance for such a permit.

The board meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at village hall, 300 Plaza Circle. The board first will meet as a committee of the whole at 6 p.m. to discuss other issues.
