Shepherd of the Prairie offers three support groups
Three different types of support groups are offered on Tuesdays at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church, 10805 Main St., Huntley, to lend comfort and strength to both members and non-members of the church community.
“We welcome anyone who is in need of support to explore and attend one of our special groups at Shepherd of the Prairie,” said Donna Kelly, director of connections ministry. “Life’s trials can be difficult and we hope that one of our groups can be a right fit and comfort for you.”
• A Grief Journey Group for those mourning the death of a loved one is held at 10 a.m. Tuesdays
• Transitions-A Journey Through Loss is held at 7 p.m. Tuesdays for those going through a deep loss, such as death of a loved one, job loss, loss of a relationship, empty nesting, divorce, loss of health, or a loss of purpose.
• Dementia Caregiver Support Group is held at 2 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month. In collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Association, this support group is given for caregivers, friends and/or family members with Dementia.
