DuPage County treasurer: Yeena Yoo likely to win against incumbent Gwen Henry
Challenger Yeena Yoo looked likely to win against incumbent Gwen Henry in the race for DuPage County treasurer Tuesday.
The official vote count won’t be certified until later this month.
With early voting, mail-in and about 97% of election day ballots counted, Henry had 133,558 votes and Yoo had 190,588 votes.
Henry, a Republican from Wheaton, was first elected treasurer of DuPage County in 2006. A certified public accountant, she previously served as mayor of Wheaton and as a county board member and forest preserve district commissioner.
Yoo, a Democrat, is a litigation attorney and has served as a member of the DuPage County Board since 2022. She decided not to seek reelection to her District 2 seat so she could run for county treasurer. Yoo resides in Elmhurst.
