Hypocrisy shows in credit for reduced crime rate

I read over and over again about the how the rate of violent crime in Chicago this year has declined. Chicago Tribune: “Homicides and other violent crimes in Chicago have reached lows not seen in a decade in 2025, have remained flat.” Mayor Johnson claims: “a 39% drop in murders this year in comparison to 2022. We've seen historic lows in violence,” according to the Tribune.

Just what has caused this dramatic decrease in violence? Has anyone thought to give some credit to Operation Midway Blitz? That intervention removed violent criminals and gangbangers from the streets in the city of Chicago. Just the kind of people that commit violent crimes.

If I recall, it was Mayor Johnson and his allies who condemned Trump and ICE for coming to Chicago. Now they want to take credit for something they could not do. That's pure hypocrisy.
