Road closures in Des Plaines’ 2nd Ward

Auto traffic is forbidden on sections of two roads in Des Plaines’ 2nd Ward while crews install a new water main.

East Algonquin Road between Center and Lee streets is shut down until mid-November, a city spokesperson said. Additionally, Deane Street is shut down between East Algonquin and Van Buren Avenue.

Drivers should plan alternate routes and follow detour signs.

Street parking won’t be permitted on either street during the project. Residents who normally use their driveways should park on side streets, too, according to a news release.

Garbage collection and mail delivery won’t be affected.
