Hoffman Estates public works open house set for Nov. 7

The Hoffman Estates Public Works Department will host its annual community open house from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Public Works Center, 2305 Pembroke Ave.

This free event includes snowplow rides, live demonstrations, interactive displays and a touch-a-truck with vehicles and equipment like dump trucks, loaders, excavators, aerial lifts and more. Light refreshments, giveaways, and raffle items will be offered while supplies last.

In partnership with SCARCE, public works is also a participating location for the Pumpkin Smash during the event. Visitors can bring pumpkins to the open house for composting. Remove candles and other decorations first.

Pumpkins also can be dropped off at public works anytime starting Nov. 2 through 1 p.m. Nov. 7.
