My vote for Kane County sheriff

I am supporting Amy Johnson for Kane County sheriff because experience matters, especially in a position responsible for the safety of our communities.

Johnson has served in the Kane County Sheriff’s Office for more than 20 years and currently serves as undersheriff. Throughout her career, she has worked in patrol, investigations, major crimes and leadership. She understands every aspect of the sheriff’s office and has the experience necessary to make it even stronger.

I also appreciate that Johnson recognizes there is no single solution to every public safety challenge. Kane County has made important progress by focusing on treatment, successful reentry and reducing repeat offenses. Johnson is committed to continuing that work while ensuring deputies receive the training, resources and support they need to serve our communities effectively.

That is the kind of practical, balanced leadership I want from our next sheriff. I am not looking for the loudest candidate or the best slogan. I want someone who knows the job, understands Kane County and will continue improving the sheriff’s office for everyone in Kane County.

Johnson is that person, and she has my vote.
