Cary Elementary District 26 seeks new board member after resignation

Cary Elementary District 26 board has an open seat that must be filled by appointment. Stacey Sault submitted her resignation to Superintendent Sarah Cacciatore to be effective at the end of the next regular board meeting scheduled for Oct. 26, 2026.

Sault stated she was thankful to have served on the board for the past 5 years. This event triggers a 60-day window in which the school board is required to interview and appoint a new board member.

Applications are being accepted for the open board seat at this time. Applicants must be a citizen of the United States, 18 years of age or older, a resident of District 26 for at least one year, and a registered voter.

The open seat will be appointed to serve through the April 2027 general election. The board encourages any community member who is interested in serving the district to apply for the position.

By law, the seat must be filled within 60 days from the effective date of the resignation. Interested candidates should send a letter of interest with resume, qualifications and proof of residency to Superintendent Dr. Sarah Cacciatore at the District 26 Administrative Center, 2115 Crystal Lake Road, Cary, IL. 60013 or email to sarah.cacciatore@cary26.org.

All applications must be received at the Administration Center by the end of the business day on Nov. 6, 2026, to be considered.

The school board meets at 6 p.m. on the third and fourth Mondays of the month. For details, visit cary26.com.
