Buffalo Grove OKs design agreement for emergency water link with county
Buffalo Grove trustees this week approved an ordinance allowing the village president to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with Lake County for design engineering of an emergency water system interconnection.
The village gets its water from the Northwest Water Commission, while the county is supplied by the Central Lake County Joint Action Water Agency.
The interconnection would be located near Buffalo Grove Road and Creek View Drive. It would enable either agency to supply water to the other in the event of a supply interruption.
The $137,857.75 design cost will be split in half, with the village’s share capped at $68,928.88. A separate agreement will cover construction.
