Q&A
Why are you running for this office? Is there a particular issue that motivates you?
I'm running to protect taxpayers, fiscal responsibility, support public safety, supporting law enforcement, strengthen our communities, and make sure the voices of District 6 residents are heard. Yes, my own family's experience with fentanyl-related loss motivated me to become an advocate, having been doing this for over 10 years, I see how political everything is.
If you are an incumbent, describe your main contributions. Tell us of any important initiatives you’ve led. If you are a challenger, what would you bring to the board and what would your priority be?
As a challenger for DuPage County Board District 6, I would bring firsthand experience as a family advocate, a strong commitment to public safety, and a determination to make local government more responsive to residents. My top priority would be addressing to protect taxpayers, reduce wasteful spending, and ensure county resources are directed toward essential services. I believe residents deserve an accessible, accountable representative who listens to their concerns and follows through with meaningful action.
What initiatives would you support to increase revenue and/or save money?
I would review county contracts, procurement practices, and administrative expenses to identify potential savings, while ensuring taxpayer dollars are used effectively and transparently.
To increase revenue, I would support policies that encourage local business growth, attract new investment, and help existing businesses expand, strengthening the local tax base without unnecessarily increasing the burden on residents. Work with local municipalities and economic development organizations to attract employers. Support redevelopment of vacant commercial properties.
Is there a specific service or amenity that is lacking in the county? If so, how do you propose to provide and fund it?
Too many families face challenges without knowing where to turn for reliable information, resources, and assistance. My goal would be to ensure residents and families can access the help they need while protecting taxpayers and making responsible use of county funds. By building on existing resources and working collaboratively with community partners, we can address unmet needs without placing an unnecessary financial burden on residents.
Does there need to be more bipartisanship and cooperation on the county board? If yes, what would you do to help make that happen?
Yes, I believe bipartisanship and cooperation are essential to effective county government. Residents deserve elected officials who put the needs of the community ahead of party politics. While we may disagree on certain issues, we share the responsibility of providing essential services, protecting taxpayers, and ensuring DuPage County remains a great place to live and work.
If elected, I would make an effort to listen to all board members, encourage open and respectful discussion, and seek common ground on issues such as public safety, responsible spending, mental health services, and economic development. I would support making decisions based on facts, transparency, and what best serves our residents rather than party affiliation.
My goal would be to build relationships, work collaboratively across party lines, and focus on practical solutions. Good government means being willing to listen, compromise when appropriate, and remain accountable to the people we represent.
What is your stance on county board members' pay? Is it too high, too low, or just right? Would you propose any changes?
I believe all County Board positions, including the Chair, should have compensation that reflects the part-time nature of the roles and remains fair to taxpayers. I am particularly concerned that the proposed increase in the Chair's pay is excessive for a part-time position. I would propose a reconsideration of the pay increase.
What is the most important issue facing the county in your district and how should it be addressed?
One of the most important issues facing DuPage County is maintaining essential services while ensuring county government remains financially responsible. Residents deserve safe communities, reliable infrastructure, and access to the services they need without placing an unnecessary burden on taxpayers. I would carefully review county spending, contracts, and administrative costs to identify opportunities for savings and greater efficiency.
I would also support pursuing state and federal grants, strengthening public safety, improving access to mental health services, and investing in necessary road and infrastructure improvements. My goal would be to make sure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely, county services remain effective, and decisions are guided by the needs of residents.
