License plate readers help police

Last week, a shooting occurred in the parking lot at the Oakbrook Center shopping mall. A man was shot and killed. Police used license plate reader cameras to find and capture the suspects, preventing others from danger as people on the run typically break laws getting away, such as running through red lights and stop signs.

The point is that Flock cameras are a great tool for police. I get that a very small minority use some of the information to track ex-wives or girlfriends, and to that, I say, make the offense a felony. But don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.
