Man stashed two guns outside casino, Des Plaines police say

A Chicago man was arrested Tuesday after stashing two stolen handguns outside Rivers Casino in Des Plaines, police announced.

Anthony Garcia, 30, of the 1400 block of North Lockwood Avenue, is charged with two counts each of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and violating the Firearm Owner’s Identification card Act.

Garcia had been seen placing something in bushes near a parking lot at the casino Tuesday night, police said in a news release. Security footage revealed Garcia took two guns out of a backpack and then hid them, police said.

Garcia subsequently was found inside Rivers and arrested.

Police later determined both guns had been reported stolen in Elk Grove Village.
