Blackberry Township seeks new clerk

Blackberry Township is seeking a new clerk to replace Carmella Hummell, who resigned.

Residents, who must be Republican voters, should send applications to Supervisor Esther Steel, 43W390 Main Street Road, Elburn, IL 60119, or email them to supervisor@blackberrytwpil.gov.

The clerk keeps all township records, including meeting minutes, cemetery records and road district records. The clerk also oversees official notices, administers oaths of office, monitors state laws and regulations, is an ex officio clerk for the road district, participates on the mental health board and witnesses bid openings.

The term ends May 19, 2028. It pays $10,000 a year.
