The Stalin personality

In his brilliant historical work “Hitler and Stalin” author Alan Bullock describes Stalin:

“.......two features of Stalin's psychology were most important. The first was his narcissistic personality, characterized by his total self-absorption, his inability to see other people as real in the same sense that he saw himself, and his conviction that he was a genius marked out to play a unique historical role. The second was the paranoid tendency that led him to picture himself as a great man facing a hostile world peopled with jealous and treacherous enemies engaged in a conspiracy to pull him down, if he did not strike and destroy them first. Typical of the paranoid's mental world was the systematic nature of the delusions that obsessed him: He was ceaselessly occupied in collecting evidence from which to erect and then buttress the logical structure that sustained it.”

He could have been writing about the current occupant of the Oval Office.
