Shake Shack, Cava could replace old Red Lobster in Geneva
The former Red Lobster restaurant in Geneva may be demolished to make room for a new Shake Shack.
The Geneva Planning and Zoning Commission will consider a site plan at a meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6.
The property owner wants to build a three-tenant commercial building at 902 Commons Drive in the Shoppes at Geneva Commons shopping center. The shopping center is at Bricher and Randall roads.
Two of the spaces would be occupied by the fast-casual dining restaurants Shake Shack and Cava Mediterranean, according to plan documents posted on the city’s website.
There would be a drive-up lane for Cava, where drivers could pick up meals ordered through the restaurant’s app.
The Red Lobster was built around 2003, according to the application.
The restaurant closed in August 2024, and the building has been vacant since then.
