NFL moves Bears game against Packers to noon start time

The NFL has moved the Bears’ Week 5 game at the Green Bay Packers on Oct. 11 at Lambeau Field to a noon kickoff.

The league originally scheduled the game for 3:25 p.m. This will be the first Bears-Packers meeting since last year’s wild-card playoff game at Soldier Field.

The schedule initially had four Week 5 games kicking off in the 3 p.m. hour. The league did not flex a game into the Bears-Packers time slot and will move ahead with only three games in that hour. The move likely puts more eyeballs on the San Francisco 49ers-Seattle Seahawks matchup at 3:25.

The Packers (1-2) have struggled to begin the season and remain without defensive star Micah Parsons. The Bears (2-1) had a surprising win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night with third-string quarterback Case Keenum running the offense.

It’s unclear exactly when starting quarterback Caleb Williams will be back. Coach Ben Johnson has described Williams as “week to week” with a hamstring injury.

The Bears take on the New York Jets on Sunday at Soldier Field in Week 4 before heading to Lambeau the following week.
