Introspection is called for

The Trump administration’s decision to bar three news outlets from covering the White House is clearly unconstitutional. The ban cannot be allowed to stand. At the same time, certainly the administration’s claims of “fake news” — while exaggerated — should prompt the three news outlets to look in the mirror and question themselves about the objectivity of their reporting.

I was trained as a journalist to be “passionately dispassionate” in my coverage of the news. I submit that CNN has been passionately seeking to drive down the administration’s approval ratings. CNN should rein in the interpretations and strive to be more factual. Let viewers form their own conclusions.
