Police: Aurora man facing felony drug charges after search yields cannabis, TCH and cash

A 19-year-old Aurora man is facing felony drug charges after Aurora police seized a large quantity of cannabis and THC products and more than $16,000 in cash Wednesday.

It was the third consecutive day of arrests and significant seizures for the Aurora Police Department’s Special Operations Group investigators, following multiple felony arrests of alleged gang members Monday and Tuesday that resulted in the recovery of firearms, ammunition, drugs and cash.

Sergio Garcia of Aurora was arrested and charged with felony possession of cannabis and possession with intent to deliver.

According to an Aurora police news release, investigators executed a search warrant at a home in the 100 block of Bluff Street just after 6 p.m. on Sept. 24.

During the search, they recovered 1,658 grams of cannabis, more than 3,000 THC vapes, 24 jars of THC wax, 945 grams of pre-rolled THC cigarillos, 107 THC chocolate bars, 80 pouches of THC gummies, 41 cartridges of THC liquid and $16,545 in cash.

Garcia remains in custody at the Kane County Adult Justice Center pending a detention hearing.
