Six residents displaced after house fire Monday in Aurora

Six people were displaced after a Monday morning fire at an Aurora home.

According to the Aurora Fire Department, firefighters responded just before 6:30 a.m. to a reported structure fire in the 1100 block of North Randall Road. When they arrived, they found heavy flames coming from the roof at the rear of a 1½-story single-family home.

Crews searched the home and started an interior fire attack but had to switch to a defensive posture when the fire spread across multiple concealed spaces in the attic, causing the roof to lose structural integrity.

Officials said that no injuries were reported.

Because of fire damage, authorities deemed the home uninhabitable, displacing six adults. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
