Maine Township garage sale canceled over weather fears

Citing concerns about severe weather, Maine Township officials have canceled a community garage sale scheduled for Saturday.

The event was to run outdoors in the township hall parking lot, 1700 Ballard Road, Park Ridge. It was billed as a rain-or-shine activity, but severe thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds could create safety hazards, officials said in a news release.

The garage sale won’t be rescheduled.
